Marina Turns Pro!

Exactly twelve months after winning her World Lightweight Natural Female Bodybuilding Championship and WNBF Pro Card, Marina has just returned from the United States and her first 'Pro World Championships'.
A nervous Marina took to the stage in New York City and made her 'professional' debut alongside 24 of the best natural female bodybuilders on the planet!
The standard was exceptional and nothing Marina had ever encountered in the Amateur ranks could have prepared her for the excellence of this competition.
Despite being in the greatest condition of her career so far, Marina was disappointed but philosophical about not making the 'Top 8'.
Normally competing in the Lightweight category, Marina finally placed a very credible 11th against several Heavyweight competitors, some of whom weighed 125lbs - more than two stone heavier than Marina!
Marina said: "To have made 11th in my first attempt at this level has been an encouraging start to my professional career. The standard was exceptional and I was just thrilled to hold my own in such elite company. I need to pack on some muscle to improve my placing next year, so for 2007 I will be competing less and concentrating purely on qualifying for the World Championships".
Anyone who knows Marina should watch this space. She started her career placing nowhere in Gosport's Solent City Open Bodybuilding Championships and progressed to winning the World Title! Who says she can't do the same again in the pro ranks?
